Coalition Advocacy

The Physicians for MA Beneficiaries, a Coalition of 22 value-based care provider organizations collectively treating over 200,000 Medicare beneficiaries at more than 800 locations, have submitted two letters addressing the Advance Notice of Methodological Changes for Calendar Year (CY) 2025 for Medicare Advantage (MA) Capitation Rates, Part C and Part D Payment Policies. Both letters were sent to the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and address the adverse impact on MA beneficiaries from the new risk adjustment model being implemented. The letters highlight significant concerns related to the quality of care and scope of services for the Coalition members and their Medicare patients in the future if the MA funding continues to fall under the new model that excludes risk adjustment for many common and costly chronic conditions.
