On January 18, the Physicians for Medicare Advantage Beneficiaries held its inaugural board meeting. The new nonprofit Board approved the bylaws, the election of officers and reviewed its initial workplan. The mission of the Coalition is focused on educating Congress and the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) as to the adverse impact on medical services for Medicare beneficiaries arising from the implementation of the V28 Risk Adjustment Model within the federal Medicare Advantage program. Stay tuned as the Coalition launches a number of educational and research initiatives to highlight how physician-based organizations can make a real difference for seniors’ health. Maintaining fair reimbursement for these services is essential.
